One Accord

Welcome! This site is to introduce you to the vocal hymn group One Accord. We are a group of friends from in and around Cheyenne, Wyoming who have a passion for vocal music and using it to praise God. We hope our love for music will encourage others to rediscover the old hymns and join us in expressing that love in harmony.

What we are not: We are not a quartet. Typically we sing four-part close harmony arrangements, but there are no parts assigned to specific people. At any given time there may be three, four, or twenty members singing together! We are also not a performance group. As noted above, we sing because we love the music and we want to use God's gift of music to His glory. That's also why you won't see a lot of what the professionals call "stage presence" when we sing. Most of us have not had any kind of stage training; we just express ourselves however the Spirit moves us.

We are also not a specific church or denomination. As a group, we are all born-again Christians who believe that Jesus is the living Son of God and the promised Messiah (Christ). Beyond that, we have our own church families, our own Bible translation preferences, and our own unique relationships with God.

God is our only audience. Our desire, our prayer, is to sing to please God -- not for the entertainment of others or to please our egos, but an expression of pure love from our hearts. That is not to say that we don't love to sing any time and any place! We have shared our music at churches in Cheyenne and Laramie, gone out caroling over Christmas, and visited the Paramount Cafe on open mic night one Friday. If you think your church would enjoy some homespun a cappella, let us know.
